Tequila Fortaleza Añejo is very full-bodied with notes of honey and cinnamon. Often, however, in aged tequilas you experience a tendency for the original agave flavor to drown in the sweetness from the barrel, here Fortaleza is different.
Here, the work of art succeeds in allowing the freshness of the agave to enter into a taste symbiosis with the barrel ageing, and you thereby get the best of both worlds.
TEQUILA FORTALEZA
Tequila Fortaleza Añejo is made by a man who comes from a family with a long history deeply rooted in tequila production in Mexico and its distribution to the rest of the world. Guillermo Erickson Sauza is the man behind Fortaleza.
Guillermo's great-great grandfather created Sauza Tequila over 100 years ago, but the brand was sold years ago. The long history, however, gives Guillermo a unique knowledge and experience that has created one of the world's best tequilas recognized worldwide.
THE PRODUCTION OF TEQUILA FORTALEZA AÑEJO
Tequila Fortaleza Añejo is one of the world's best tequilas, which is made according to the classic traditional methods, from harvesting the agave plant to bottling.
The agave fruits are baked in a stone oven and then crushed in the traditional tahoa. The bottle is handmade and mouth blown. The fermentation process takes place in open wooden barrels. It is aged for 6-9 months in oak barrels. Produced according to completely traditional methods, which tequila has been produced by for hundreds of years, it gives it a very special character in aroma and taste.
