Description:
Ardbeg is not afraid to experiment with new distilling methods. It therefore comes as no surprise that this Limited Edition is being released to celebrate Ardbeg Day 2024.
The result of an experimental marriage between whiskey matured in rare port casks (a first for Ardbeg) and the more classic ex-bourbon casks, it is a special but exciting blend of flavors and aromas. As you would expect, there is a lot of smoke, but with it comes fragrant, floral top notes and a background of sweetness.
As with all Ardbeg whiskies, it has been non-chill filtered to retain maximum flavour, body and depth.

Appearance
Sunset orange.
Fragrance
Perfumed and aromatic with top notes of lavender, grass and incense, and deeper notes of leather, almond, nuts and a touch of wax. A splash of water reveals wood smoke, damp peat moss, a hint of menthol and more antique leather.
Taste
The mouthfeel is salty but viscous and leads to a burst of powerful salts and savouriness. There is also a background sweetness with flavors of smoked pear crumble and fudge and a long finish.
