A great vintage in a majestic format

Dom Pérignon Vintage 2010 in Jeroboam size (3 liters) is a rare and magnificent champagne, both in terms of quality and character. The 2010 vintage was marked by challenges in the field, which meant that only a very few champagne houses chose to declare a vintage. That Dom Pérignon chose to bottle this vintage is a testament to both courage and selective craftsmanship – and the result is a complex and vibrant champagne with great aging potential.

This 3-liter bottle is ideal for celebrations or as a centerpiece for collectors who want to experience Dom Pérignon in an impressive format.

Vintage 2010 – The triumph of Chardonnay

The 2010 growing season was dramatic. A harsh winter and cool early summer were followed by damp and unstable weather in August and September, which particularly affected the thin-skinned Pinot Noir. Many plots had to be discarded due to rot. In contrast, the Chardonnay grapes achieved exceptional quality – in fact, 2010 is considered one of the best years for Chardonnay of the decade.

Dom Pérignon's approach to the vintage was uncompromising: only the healthiest and most concentrated grapes from selected plots – notably from the Grand Cru village of Verzenay and Premier Cru fields in Hautvillers – were used.

Technical details

  • Classification: Predominantly Grand Cru and Premier Cru (Hautvillers)

  • Aging: 9 years on lees (on yeast residue)

  • Disgorged: Autumn 2020

  • Dosage: 5 g/l (Brut)

  • Alcohol: 12.5%

  • Drinking fashion: Now and until 2045+

Tasting notes

Dom Pérignon 2010 opens with a bright, exotic and aromatic nose. Fresh notes of green mango, melon and pineapple combine with orange peel and mandarin – a scent palette that is experienced as “the light after the rain”. Floral notes such as peony, jasmine and lilac unfold, giving the nose an almost poetic expression.

In the mouth, the champagne immediately impresses with its fullness and structure. It feels both broad and firm – generous but controlled. The texture is juicy and lively, quickly transforming into an aromatic explosion with nuances of spices and white pepper. The finish is crisp, mineral and slightly salty, creating incredible length and energy in the finish.

Serving

To enjoy this champagne in its full bloom, it is recommended to serve it at 10–12°C in spacious glasses that allow the champagne to unfold. A short stay in the carafe (10–15 minutes) can further highlight the aromatic complexity of the wine.

Format and use

The Jeroboam format (3 liters) is not only visually impressive – it also contributes to a slower and more harmonious maturation, making this bottle particularly suitable for long-term storage. Perfect for larger parties, exclusive receptions or as a unique gift for the discerning champagne lover.

95 → 97/100 Points: Essi Avellan MW

"Gorgeous, amply toasty and smoky nose, still holding back. The fruit is impeccably crisp and appetizing but still the palate carries the best surprises. There is such volume and generosity but look at the acidity rolling in complementing the exciting textural dynamics. It comes with a superbly saline and perfectly pristine finish, leaving the mouth satisfyingly refreshed, yet yearning for more. There is an appetizing fluffiness to the mousse and the wine takes its 5g/l dosage effortlessly. This undoubtedly is a Dom Perignon that will keep on giving." EssiAvellan.com, Jun 2020
