2009 vintage in iconic format
Dom Pérignon Vintage 2009 in Methuselah size (6 liters) is a champagne of a special class – a symbol of craftsmanship and prestige. This impressive bottle contains not only eight standard bottles of champagne, but also the essence of an extraordinary year in the Champagne region. As always with Dom Pérignon, it is exclusively vintage champagne – produced only in the best years – and 2009 is undoubtedly one of them.
Class of 2009 – A year of contrasts
The 2009 growing season started off difficultly with a mild and damp spring season that raised concerns about diseases in the vineyards. But in August the picture changed: the sun broke through and warm, dry weather created optimal ripening conditions for the grapes. The harvest could therefore begin on September 12th under perfect conditions – and the result was a wine with remarkable richness, balance and energy.

Taste experience
Dom Pérignon 2009 is surprisingly open and welcoming already now. The warm summer has given the grapes intense ripeness, which is beautifully balanced by lively acidity and elegance. On the nose you encounter aromas of guava, grapefruit and white peach, along with subtle notes of vanilla and toasted brioche.
On the tongue, the champagne feels silky smooth with great depth and finesse. A hint of licorice creeps into the aftertaste, adding complexity. The finish is long, clean and persistent – exactly as you would expect from Dom Pérignon.
Although it is already ready to drink, the 2009 vintage has great aging potential. Over time, it will develop even more depth with notes of nuts, coffee and dried fruit.
Serving
Serve Dom Pérignon 2009 chilled at 10–12 °C – preferably in large glasses to allow for the wine's aromatic complexity. A short decanting may be beneficial to fully open up the champagne.
A collector's item and an experience in itself
The Mathusalem format makes this champagne a true centerpiece for special occasions – ideal for large parties, weddings or as a gift for the collector who appreciates the extraordinary. Aging potential of approximately 45 years.

"There is a striking easiness to this seductively fruity and soft vintage of Dom Pérignon that from first sight might come across obvious. Overt, inviting nose of pristine, sunkissed fruit with exotic fruit nuances. At this early stage it comes with a delicately toasty undertone with ripe peach, lemon sorbet and yellow apple. Plush, rounded and succulent palate with caressing mousse. Plenty of appeal on the intense, crisp-enough, wide open palate that is beautifully textured. At a closer look there is in-built power underneath the first impression of a charm and warmth already with many more nuances waiting to be revealed over time.

"The 2009 Dom Pérignon is a gorgeous, totally seductive Champagne that will drink well right out of the gate. Medium in body and unusually open-knit at this stage, the 2009 is one of the most accessible young Dom Pérignons I can remember tasting. It is an excellent choice to drink while waiting for the release of the stellar 2008 and some recent vintages that remain very young, including the 2006. Despite the warm, ripe personality of the 2009 Dom Pérignon is quite gracious, but there is plenty of depth underpinning the fruit. With each successive tasting, the 2009 seems to have gained more power and breadth, especially on the finish. Above all else, the 2009 is decidedly restrained for a warm, radiant vintage. 2006. Instead, the 2009 is a beautifully balanced Champagne, with all of its elements in the right place.”
