Krug Grande Cuvée is the annual re-creation of Joseph Krug's vision: to produce the best champagne, regardless of the climatic challenges of the year. A true symphony – and the most generous interpretation of Champagne.
Created around fall 2017
The year started cold, but mild spring weather kicked off the wine's development prematurely. The region lost 20% of its fruit due to spring frosts and heavy summer showers. Dry and warm weather saved the remaining grapes, which were harvested from August 25 to September 15 .
The final blend
The difference between the plots in 2017 was evident in the tasting room: fine expressions, but also certain unevenness and rustic character.
Reserve wines add elegance with 2014 and 2011 Chardonnay and liveliness from 2000s Pinot Noir , as well as structure from Montagne de Reims Nord and precision from 2016 Meunier .

Color
Intense golden yellow.
Fragrance
Aromas of toasted bread and brioche, stone fruit, verbena, vanilla cream, French toast and baba au rhum.
Taste
Rich notes of juicy fruits – peach in syrup and ripe citrus – glide into waxy, toasted notes and pine nuts. Generous and finished with a crisp, mouthwatering lemon note.
The passage of time
This cuvée has been aged for at least 7 years in Krug's cellars and can be enjoyed now or stored. Over time, it will develop further complexity and an elegant patina.
