The wine has many different aromas. You can find aromas of flowers, thyme, sweet licorice, wild strawberry, dark cherry and tobacco. It gives flavor notes of forest floor, cloves and spices. There is a fine balance between acid and tannins and a well-rounded, long aftertaste.
Founded in 1985, Cloudy Bay was one of the first five winemakers to venture into Marlborough. At the time, it was almost an unthinkable place to plant a vineyard.
Cloudy Bay is spread over two wine regions, full of climatic and geological diversities. Marlborough, this is where it all started in New Zealand. Central Otago, the world's southernmost wine region, where selection is paramount.
